To assure a clean burn, please keep the wick trimmed. Soy wax needs a memory burn. For best results, please burn your candle atleast 2-3 hours at first light. Your candle should burn to the bottom of the jar giving you at least 40 hours in the 8 oz. size and 100 hours in the 18 oz. size. Enjoy the wonderful scent.
- Lighted candles should always be within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.
- Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
- Read and follow all manufacturer instructions carefully.
- Keep candle wick centered and trim the wick to 1⁄4 inch each time before burning.
- Always use an appropriate candleholder placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Always burn votives candles in a tight-fitting, heatproof container specifically made for candles.
- Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents and air currents.
- Extinguish a candle if it smokes, flickers repeatedly, or the flame becomes too high. Cool, trim wick, check for drafts, and re-light.
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
- Never touch or move a votive or container candle when the wax is liquid. Liquid wax is HOT!!
Jar or Container Candles
These need a "memory burn". Burn them for 1 hour for each inch of their diameter.
Example: a Colley Hill jar candle 3" in diameter should be burned for three hours to establish its "memory".
This allows your jar candle to establish a full melt pool increasing the scent throw. This will also utilize all wax in the jar, leaving you with just an empty jar and no left over wax! Burn time is at least 40 hours when these directions are followed. When your candle has burned completely, our jars can be washed out with hot, soapy water and re-used or recycled !
